Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Effective and last updated: August 13, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between the adult accepting them ("you") and Bahadır Kacar, an individual developer based in Türkiye who operates Regola ("Regola," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern the Regola mobile application, website, and related services (together, the "Services"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and is incorporated into these Terms where permitted by law.

By creating an account, clicking to accept, purchasing a subscription, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you create a family account, you also agree to these Terms for the child profiles and household members you are legally authorized to manage.

Important points

  • An adult is responsible for the family account, child profiles, permissions, and settings.
  • Regola is a family-management aid, not a guarantee of behavior, safety, or uninterrupted blocking.
  • Task proof must be lawful, appropriate, and limited to the household.
  • Store purchases are also governed by Apple or Google billing and refund rules.

1. Eligibility and Family Accounts

You must be legally capable of entering a contract and, unless the law where you live sets a higher age, at least 18 years old to create and control a family account. A minor may use a child profile only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who has authority to provide that permission.

You represent that the account information you provide is accurate; that you are authorized to create and manage each child profile and device you connect; and that you will use the Services only for members of your household or others whose lawful authorization you have. You are responsible for account credentials, adult controls, household roles, and activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

2. What Regola Does

Regola helps adults create family profiles, assign chores or activities, review completion, grant screen-time rewards, maintain a time bank, and configure supported app-access controls. Some features require compatible devices, operating-system permissions, internet access, notifications, camera or photo access, or services supplied by Apple or Google.

On iOS, supported app controls use Apple's Family Controls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity. Regola does not install MDM, configuration profiles, or a VPN. On Android, supported controls use Usage Access and an Accessibility Service to identify a selected foreground Reward App and show Regola's block screen. The service does not retrieve window content or read passwords, messages, or browsing contents. Regola does not request Android Device Administrator access.

Regola assists with household routines; it does not replace active adult supervision, device security, emergency access, medical advice, or professional advice about a child's health or development. Device restrictions may be delayed, bypassed, interrupted, or unavailable because of connectivity, device settings, operating-system limitations, battery state, third-party changes, or service outages. Adults must confirm that essential communications, safety tools, schoolwork, and emergency functions remain accessible.

3. Limited License and Ownership

Subject to these Terms, Regola grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, solely for lawful household use and in accordance with applicable store usage rules. Regola and its licensors retain all rights in the software, visual design, brands, documentation, and other materials, except for content you provide.

You may not copy, sell, rent, distribute, reverse engineer, bypass, modify, or create derivative works from the Services except where applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction. You may not remove ownership notices or use our marks without written permission.

4. Family Content and Task Proof

You retain ownership of task names, photos, messages, and other content you submit ("Family Content"). You grant Regola a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, process, transmit, and display Family Content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the Services. This license ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, subject to backup cycles and legally required retention described in the Privacy Policy.

You must ensure that Family Content:

  • is appropriate for the household and relevant to the task or feature;
  • does not exploit, sexualize, abuse, threaten, bully, or endanger any person;
  • does not reveal unnecessary addresses, school details, credentials, or private documents;
  • does not infringe privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, or other rights; and
  • does not contain malware, unlawful material, or instructions to evade safety controls.

Adults must review a child's submission and obtain permission from anyone identifiable in it. We may remove or restrict content reasonably believed to violate these Terms, law, or a person's safety. Report harmful or unlawful content to [email protected]. Regola does not provide public posting or communication with strangers through the household features described here.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not, and may not help another person to:

  • use the Services without the affected device owner's or parent/guardian's lawful authorization;
  • monitor, coerce, stalk, harass, discriminate against, exploit, or harm another person;
  • gain unauthorized access to an account, device, API, network, or data;
  • defeat security, usage limits, payment controls, or operating-system safeguards;
  • interfere with the Services, introduce malicious code, scrape data, or overload infrastructure;
  • misrepresent identity, parental authority, task completion, or entitlement to a purchase; or
  • use the Services in violation of law, sanctions, export controls, or third-party terms.

6. Purchases and Subscriptions

Some features require an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription. The monthly plan has no free trial. The yearly plan includes a seven-day free trial for an eligible new subscriber, after which the store charges the yearly price shown on the purchase screen unless the trial is canceled before it ends. The purchase screen shows the plan, included features, billing period, current localized price, eligibility and renewal terms. Those transaction-specific terms form part of these Terms and control if a store-approved offer differs from this general description.

Purchases made through Apple's App Store or Google Play are processed by that store and are also governed by its billing, cancellation, and refund rules. Unless the purchase screen says otherwise, an auto-renewing subscription continues for successive billing periods until canceled through the store account that made the purchase. Uninstalling Regola or deleting a Regola account does not itself cancel a store subscription. Manage or cancel through your Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions.

Cancellation ordinarily stops future renewal while access continues through the paid period. Refund eligibility is determined by the applicable store's rules and mandatory law. Nothing in these Terms limits a refund, cancellation, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.

7. Changes to the Services or These Terms

We may improve, add, remove, or discontinue features. If a change materially reduces a paid feature during its paid period, we will provide any remedy required by law or applicable store rules. We may update these Terms for legal, security, or product reasons. We will post the new date and give advance notice of material changes where required. If consent is legally required, we will ask for it. Otherwise, continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms; you may stop using and delete your account if you disagree.

8. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Regola at any time and request deletion through the app or our Delete Account and Data page. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, security threat, fraud, legal request, nonpayment, or risk of harm. When appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue or appeal by contacting support.

We may terminate an account for a serious or repeated violation or discontinue the Services with reasonable notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature should survive—including ownership, payment obligations already incurred, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—remain effective after termination. Deletion and retention are described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

The Services depend on operating systems, app stores, networks, and other third-party services that we do not control. Their own terms may apply. Regola is responsible for the Services it provides, but not for third-party products or changes outside its reasonable control. Any third-party terms must be used consistently with these Terms and applicable law.

10. Warranties and Disclaimers

We will provide the Services with reasonable care and skill. Except for that promise and any warranty that cannot be excluded under applicable law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise that every device or app can be controlled, that restrictions will always operate without delay or circumvention, that data will never be lost, or that Regola will produce a particular behavioral, educational, fitness, health, or family outcome.

Nothing in these Terms excludes legal guarantees, statutory warranties, or remedies that apply to consumers and cannot be excluded or limited by contract.

11. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of mandatory consumer rights, or any liability that law does not permit us to limit.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Regola is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential loss, or loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising from use of the Services. For any other claim, Regola's aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to Regola for the Services during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100 (or local-currency equivalent). This limit does not apply where applicable law requires a different remedy or amount.

12. Governing Rules and Disputes

Before filing a formal claim, please email [email protected] with a description of the issue so we can try to resolve it. These Terms do not require private arbitration and do not waive access to small-claims court, a regulator, or another forum available under applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without excluding mandatory conflict-of-laws or consumer protections. Disputes may be brought before the consumer arbitration committees, consumer courts, or other authorities and courts that have jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of non-waivable protections or forums in the country or region where you habitually reside.

13. Additional Apple App Store Terms

If you obtained Regola from Apple, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Regola, not Apple. Regola, not Apple, is responsible for the app, its content, maintenance and support, warranties, product claims, and intellectual-property claims. Your license is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and applicable Family Sharing or volume-purchase rules.

If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, as permitted by its rules. To the maximum extent law permits, Apple has no other warranty obligation. You represent that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism and are not on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must comply with applicable third-party terms. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce this section.

14. General Terms

If part of these Terms is unlawful or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the rest will remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms or your account without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a reorganization or business transfer, provided your rights are not materially reduced. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and purchase-specific disclosures form the entire agreement about the Services and replace earlier terms on the same subject.

15. Contact

For legal, privacy, safety, or support questions, email [email protected]. Privacy requests are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. The developer is Bahadır Kacar, Yayla Mahallesi, Ahu Sokak, No: 7/13, 34933 Tuzla, İstanbul, Türkiye; telephone +90 551 070 7538.
